Common Questions
WHAT IS FIBROBLAST PLASMA?
This innovative technology utilizes plasma— formed through ionization of atmospheric gasses— to stimulate instant skin contraction. Skin contraction causes fibres to repair & tighten by activating the Fibroblast Cells in the dermis; which creates high levels of Collagen and Elastin, resulting in immediate long term anti-aging effects. It’s completely natural and requires no chemicals. During the procedure, a tiny plasma flash, also known as an electrical arc is being discharged from the tip of the Plasma Lift hand piece. The tool itself never touches the skin however a plasma flash creates a tiny dot upon contact. This newfound method of technology uses a sublimation process, turning solid directly to gas to tighten skin tissue. The chemistry of the targeted tissue changes, causing no damage to surrounding areas or deeper skin layers. Further points are applied creating a symmetrical grid over the treatment area. Effects are noticeable right away. Full results become visible after 2-4 weeks. Patients may resume regular activities within a few days with just minimal discomfort.
No scalpel or laser to remove excess skin, thereby avoiding all risks inherent to the traditional intervention.
Treatment is performed without cutting or removing excess skin or fat.
No injectable anesthetic required. No stitches.
Very low risk procedure with minimal side effects and very short downtime.
Significant savings compared to sought-after treatments of the same outcome, only without invasive surgery.
Long-lasting results usually around 3 years.

DO I NEED A CONSULTATION BEFORE MAKING AN APPOINTMENT FOR A PROCEDURE?
This is an opportunity for your technician to learn about your medical history and contraindications if any. During your appointment, we are able to answer any questions that you may have and determine your expectations. Aftercare and recovery down time is also explained during your consultation. We provide personalized advise for your concerns and develop a plan for your skin restoration process. A proposal may be generated at this time.
WILL IT HURT?
We make every effort to have our clients as comfortable as possible. Anesthetics are applied before and during your procedure. Everyone’s pain tolerance differs individually and we do our best to get you numb.
WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE FOR MY FIBROBLAST PLASMA APPOINTMENT?
Procedures should be scheduled to allow ample time for healing before planned vacations and high-profile social events.
Avoid alcoholic beverages within 24 hours prior to your procedure.
Avoid caffeinated or energy beverages within 6 hrs of your appointment.
Your procedure site may be hypersensitive if you are on your menstrual cycle.
We ask that children do not come along.
Arrange for a driver if needed. Expect the procedure to produce puffiness similar to that of someone with allergies and/or one who has been crying.
Bring your eyeglasses to your appointment and remove contact lenses if any. Contacts may not be worn for 72 hours after the procedure.
Come with a bare, clean face free of product and makeup.
Depending on your procedure, you will be laying on your back for 60 minutes up to 4.5 hours with limited restroom breaks, please plan accordingly.
Silence your cell phones.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY FIBROBLAST PLASMA APPOINTMENT?
Appointments may take anywhere from 1-5 hours beginning with registration and ending with after care instructions.
Step 1 ( and Step 5): Photographic evidence is taken for your file.
Step 2: Numbing
Topical anesthetic is applied to the treated area. Once the anesthetic has taken effect, it is removed and we proceed with outlining the boundaries of your treatment area.
Step 3: Procedure Commencement
At this point the anesthetic is absorbed and we are able to begin the procedure. The spotting process will develop a wound and the body immediately initiates the healing process. Depending on the skin sensitivity and duration of the appointment, we may re-anesthetize as needed.
Step 4: Soothing gel is applied
WHAT ARE ADVANCED PLASMA DOS AND DON’TS?
You may resume your activities after the first session, but you may not look your best during the healing process.
Do drink lots of cold water after your procedure and during the healing stages.
If you have received treatment to your eyes it is important that you sleep slightly elevated for up to 7 days. This will greatly reduce swelling.
If the treated area is swollen, apply ice packs covered with a clean cloth. Do not apply ice directly onto the skin as this will cause damage to the tissue.
The area treated must NOT be covered with any type of make-up, creams, lotions or any other product until the crusts have exfoliated completely. The area(s) should be kept dry and free from oil to help the crusts form and fall off of the skin naturally.
The area(s) treated can be cleansed if absolutely necessary with a soft, lint free cloth - dampen with water, do not soak, pat dry with a clean paper towel. You are only removing the excess oil and do not need to thoroughly cleanse the treated skin.
Do not rub or abrade the area(s) or use exfoliating products. This may result in scarring and or pigmentation.
We advise that you do not stand with your face under a hot shower at any time during the healing process ( days 1-21). This can increase swelling.
Try to avoid shower gels or hair products running on to your face. This can cause irritation and inflammation. Rinse thoroughly with tepid water if products do come into contact with the area(s) treated and gently pat dry.
Do not use saunas or sun beds. Avoid the midday sun. The area(s) treated have produced brand new skin and it may burn / pigment without adequate protection.
DO NOT be tempted to rub the area to aid the removal of the crusts.
It is IMPERATIVE that you apply an SPF 50 once the crusts have fallen off the skin. Do not apply your SPF while the crusts are still visible as this will moisten the skin and the crusts will fall off prematurely. The skin should be allowed to heal naturally under the crusts.
Facial treatments should be avoided whilst your skin is healing (days 1-90).
Avoid using skincare that contains Glycolic or other active exfoliating ingredients, this WILL cause irritation.
Avoid alcohol based cleansers.
Any additional treatments that may be required can be performed once the skin is completely healed and has returned back to its normal color. This may take up to 12 weeks.
WHAT IS THE FIBROBLAST PLASMA HEALING PROCESS AND WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
Immediately following your procedure and for 14-21 days to follow:
Day 1-3: Following your Advanced Plasma procedure there may be some mild to moderate swelling. You may experience a “stinging” sensation in the treated area(s). This is normal and is simply the heat exiting the skin. Skin may feel tender if touched and will appear slightly red. Lymphatic drainage may be seen caused by an increasing of blood to the area. This is all normal. An ice pack, covered with a clean cloth, should be applied at frequent intervals to help sooth, ease the swelling and draw the heat out of the skin. Sleep in an elevated position to help reduce swelling through the night. Swelling may be more prominent upon waking in the morning (especially in the eye area if applicable) but will dissipate throughout the day upon increasing blood circulation. Avoid heavy lifting, physical exertion and salt intake.
Day 4-6: Skin will be less swollen and begin to feel tight. Tiny dark brown crusts will quickly form on the treated area. These may be visible for 7-21 days. Do not pick them off as this will delay the healing process.
Day 7-9: Your skin will begin to itch. This is normal. DO NOT scratch or pick! It is also normal for the area that has been treated to still feel tight and dry. Crusts will begin exfoliating especially around the mouth area if applicable.
Day 10-21: Your skin will continue exfoliating and will shed evenly if left alone. DO NOT scratch or pick! The color under the exfoliating skin will appear pink util the epidermis takes on its more transparent characteristics; sometimes for several weeks.
Day 22: Shedding should be about complete. You can now apply make up and you’re safe to resume back to your normal lifestyle.
Day 90: Now is the time to critique your treatment, your skin has healed.
WHAT IS THE LONG TERM CARE?
Use a good sunscreen SPF 45+ daily. Sun exposure is damaging to your skin.
